The Sleeping Beauty Story
the beginning
This project became the foundation for everything I do through Elle Fera Fera. When my business partner and best friend Mike and I bought this crumbling 1900 Victorian that neighbors expected to be demolished, we proved several things I now bring to every client:
I can create design authority. I partnered with Bertazzoni for their national campaign featuring our kitchen - the kind of work that gets recognized by brands who know good design.
I generate media attention. Louisville Business First story, multiple Apartment Therapy features, NBC News coverage, Courier Journal features — my transformations become stories worth telling.
I bring the dream to life. We saw the grand beauty hidden beneath the decay and brought it back — that's what happens when you understand what a space really wants to become.
I handle everything from vision to sale. I art-directed the listing photos, wrote the marketing copy, and organized a pop-up community art exhibit as a creative way to showcase the property during a period of drastic interest rate hikes.
I make partnerships work. Two years of pandemic challenges and the general upheaval of a to-the-studs renovation were a true trial, but "friends first" kept us focused on creating something extraordinary.
Every project is about the same thing: seeing the authentic story waiting to be told and bringing every detail to life in service of that vision.

The complete story - with all the behind-the-scenes details, design decisions, and lessons learned - is worth telling properly so there’s lots more to come. Follow @elleferafera for updates.
